This week we remember Legendary Cuban Rumba Singer and Director of the Cuban Folkloric Group “Los Invasores de los 80” (Invaders of the 80s) Francisco Rigores with Luci Murphy. A cultural warrior and internationalist activist D.C. native. Francisco Rigores was considered a local celebrity and master of Afro-Cuban music and dance. Rigores lived in the Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant & the Columbia Heights neighborhoods over the past four decades.
